Seoul Grand Park

Updated: Jul 31

This is definitely a late post, but between work and getting settled into my new apartment... I was slacking on here. I apologize, I need to be better! :)

Last month I took a nice day trip to Seoul Grand Park. It is located south of Seoul, South Korea, in the city of Gwacheon (과천시). Facilities at Seoul Grand Park include hills and hiking trails, Seoul Grand Park Zoo, Children's Zoo, a rose garden, Seoul Land amusement park, and the Seoul Museum of Modern Art.

The metro ride was about 30-40 minutes, and let you out right at the entrance to the Grand Park. From there, I walked one of the paths up to the zoo. This park definitely can give you a good leg workout, it's all uphill. The zoo has some great COVID measures in place, and all their indoor exhibits were temporarily closed.

I saw a little bit of everything. Zebras, Elephants, Cheetahs, Giraffes, Camels, Sea Lions, Lions, etc. The lions were probably my favorite part. I had lunch at a cafe connected to their enclosure, and you could watch them through the glass unknowingly. They were so chillaxed, and sunning themselves like the big cats they are. It was very peaceful.

Another cool enclosure was the leopard section. They had a tunnel over the walkway from one part to the other, and Mr. Leopard was enjoying patrolling the crowds. It was pretty innovative.

I decided to end my day by taking the sky ride back to the metro. I brought my camera, so I got lots of photos of the surrounding mountains, gardens, and the lake. I would definitely recommend a visit, and the sky ride. It gives you the best views of the park.
